grown for exportation must follow serious quality
control requirements determnined by the international
market.
Such
requirements are defined to: Color, consistency,
firmness, sugars, defects and intolerable defects
(imperfections).
Color:
bright, translucent orange or yellow.
Consistency: firm, texture similar
to an apple.
Sugars: 14º Brix, maybe
reaching 18% of sugar.
Defects: Maximun tolerance at
10% with no more than 0.5 cm².
Intolerable defects (imperfections):
Presence of polluents above the recommended levels
from import countries.
