The Oriental or Japanese persimmon (Diospyrus kaki) is a small, easy to grow, warm-climate tree, belonging to Ebenaceae family.

There are about 200 species ranging from fruit, ornamental and flowering plants with over 800 varieties.

Originally from China, it is most appreciated for its great fruit quality. Also known as the fruit of Gods.

An Enduring plant, a deciduous tree, persimmonn trees will set fruit 4 years from planting and they last decades. Mature persimmon tress can produce around 220 to 330 lb fruit per tree. That is why it requires specific fertilization based on soil and plant studies.
